This week we were on kitchen duty inside the foundation. We would peel potatoes, shred carrots, or chop lettuce most days. Working in the kitchen is fun because we get to work alongside locals, which helps me practice my Spanish. I knew a little Spanish before coming here, but I’ve been able to practice it and learn a lot more, it’s so fun to try and learn.
There are two German volunteers that are our age working here at the foundation also. Some of us have become good friends with them. Most nights we like to play games on the roof terrace with them. We have a small selection of games that we brought with us, and one of them is a game called Secret Hitler. We taught them how to play, and the funny part is that they love the game even more than we do now. It’s super fun, but so ironic when playing it with people from Germany.
I have about $6,500 left to raise, and I’m going to try to design a fundraising T-shirt to sell to help out! I’m most likely going to use a drawing I made this week for it, I’ll put a picture below! Thanks for your continued support. God is truly working in our squad, even through our ministry looks differently than what we thought it would. Instead of doing more hands on work in the community, we’re working only inside the foundation, making it harder to see the fruits of our labor. But God is still so present! Pray for unity as we all naturally may get a little sick of each other, living 42 of us in close quarters for the last 2 months.
God bless!
Shelby
