This last week was spent in Guatapé, Colombia for our squad debrief. A town two hours outside of Medellin. Debriefs happen on the World Race after most countries as a way for our squad to pause and reflect on the ministry we did and all the ways that we saw God move, before heading out to our next country and beginning a new ministry!
We stayed in a hotel on a lake, but some of us got to stay in these smaller houses they also had on property instead of hotel rooms. It was pretty nice! Except for the fact that most days our water shut off from about 7:30 am to 3 pm.
Every day after breakfast, we had squad worship. The two other worship coordinators and I got to plan this time for every morning and help lead. After that we’d usually have a teaching two from our leadership team. And then our afternoons were filled with one on ones with leadershipand free time. Our free times were filled with swimming, hammocking, water coloring, and playing pool and other games. It was a really sweet week to be able to take a step back, reflect on what God’s done, and spend quality time with the whole squad before we split up for the remainder of the trip.

Up next is our four days of travel to Vietnam. Including a 20 flight from LA to Ho-Chi-Minh!

I’m currently 69% fundraised, with $5,902 to go. Praise God! I still have until February 13th to become fully funded and I have full faith He’ll make a way. I am also still selling my fundraiser tshirt until November 30th, here’s a link. ttps://campaigns.fundthenations.com/shelby-s-world-race-fund

God bless,

Hi everyone and welcome to my World Race blog! I am beyond excited for this next season of life. I leave August 29th for Gainesville, GA where we will do a couple weeks of training before heading out to the nations! This past March I went on a mission trip to Colombia with my church. This was a a very influential trip for me. God revealed to me the importance of international mission and placed the burden on my heart to take the next school year to serve. Since a child, the Lord has put in me a deep desire for world travel. And since then my love for Jesus has only grown, making international mission an exciting and purpose filled opportunity for me! Unfortunately, a mission of this extent comes at a price. Even though we are serving the Lord, housing, plane tickets, and food are not free. And a non-profit organization is not equipped to financially support multiple groups of people in this endeavor. Any and every donation is so greatly appreciated. Thank you!
